Tess Koman is the Senior Editorial Director at Serious Eats, a longstanding and award-winning food and drink site. After more than a decade in New York City, she recently returned to her New Jersey roots and welcomed a baby girl via gestational carrier in October 2022. She is so thrilled to finally be navigating the nuances of new parenthood with her husband.
Experience
Koman is a longtime editor, writer and video expert. She started her career at Cosmpolitan.com reporting on women’s health and internet culture. While there, she contributed to ELLE and Esquire and published her first book, The Best Damn Answers To Life’s Hardest Questions, in 2018. She then ran Delish.com, overseeing their editorial operations and video growth strategy before coming to Serious Eats. Her series Iconic Eats is available on YouTube and Amazon Prime.

Koman has a bachelor's degree in English and Chinese from Union College.
