A mini patio for the kids
This Step2 patio set($190 $220) is the hangout spot for my daughter and her cousin whenever they visit Grandma. It’s one of the few toys that can hold their attention for more than 10 minutes. This is due largely to the unlimited play possibilities it presents: Kids can “cook” at the grill, engage in water play at the sink, or take a break from chores by playing at the sand table. And I particularly like that it comes with an awning to protect kids from the sun.
A good-looking toy organizer
I’ve put off creating the dream playroom for my daughter; partially because there’s just no time, and partially because I have yet to find a toy organizer that checks all my boxes. But that may have changed, after spotting this Wade Logan bookcase($200 $410). Free from bright colors, this toy organizer will work with any aesthetic, in any room. The bottom has three removable drawers that make it easy for my toddler to grab her toys and put them away when she’s done. It also has additional shelves that she’ll be able to reach as she gets older, as well as four designated bookshelves so I don’t have to buy another piece of furniture.
Chic and comfy outdoor chairs
These Latitude Run chairs($300 $370) are the perfect place to sit and watch your child run ragged in the yard. They have all the makings of a chair that’s meant to last. For starters, the neutral, sleek aluminum frame will never go out of style. Add to that the water- and fade-resistant cushions, and you can rest assured you’re getting your money’s worth.
The perfect outdoor coffee table
Of course, you probably want a table to set near your chairs; where else are you going to put your snacks, right? Ivy Bronx’s coffee table($90 $252) is a simple (and deeply discounted) piece of patio furniture that you won’t regret buying. The aluminum frame is both durable and rust-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about replacing it in a few years. It’s also super easy to clean, as the top is made of tempered glass.
An extra-affordable swing set
My daughter has always been content in a swing, so finding an affordable swing set is high on our priority list. And this Sportspower metal swing set($190 $300) may make its way to our backyard. The set is perfect for multiple kids to play on, as it includes two swings, a slide, and a trapeze. Many parents also note how easy it is to swap out one of the seats or trapeze for a bucket seat. Because there are multiple components, the swing set will still appeal to kids as they grow. That and the lifetime warranty make this an appealing investment.
An under-$100 kids’ table
It’s surprisingly hard to find a kid’s table that isn’t made of super brightly colored plastic — and if you do, it could cost up to (and even over) $300. But Isabelle & Max’s table and chairs($51 $117) are a rare find. The wooden set comes with two chairs that can each accommodate up to 60 pounds, so your child will be able to use it well into the kindergarten years. A top-rated set of pots and pans
Admittedly, I wasn’t giving too much thought to cookware when scanning Way Day deals. But when I came across Farberware’s pots and pans set($100 $200), which boasted more than 5,000 five-star reviews, I had to dig a little deeper. Each item in this 17-piece set is crafted from heavy-duty aluminum and features long-lasting nonstick capabilities. On top of that, the cookware is dishwasher so you can put less time into cleaning up and more time into relaxing once the kids are in bed.
A vacuum that actually banishes pet hair
Like any fur parent, I love my dog but hate the amount of hair he leaves on every inch of my home. Although my current vacuum does a decent job capturing his hair, I’ll likely be upgrading to the BISSELL vacuum and steam mop($147 $240), this Way Day. This two-in-one appliance allows you to steam clean your floors, removing not only pet hair but odors and stains, too. Another plus: It weighs under 10 pounds, so if you have to take it up and down stairs, it’s not too large of a load.
A kid-safety hack for your stairs
I loathe the look of carpeted stairs, but I also know they are much safer for children who are just mastering them. The compromise: George Oliver’s non-slip stair treads($33 $54).
